Jensen Precast, a Sparks-based precast concrete manufacturer, increased the ability of its metal shop operations with the acquisition of two adjacent buildings off of Glendale Avenue in Sparks.
The expansion will allow Jensen MetalTech, a division of Jensen Precast, to meet the increased demand for its products, including a slip-resistant surface called TraxPlate. Its welding and fabrication areas will be increased, as well as the addition of a new plate processing facility.
“We’re very enthusiastic about vastly increasing our capabilities with this additional 21,200 square feet,” said MetalTech general manager Mike Damon in a news release. “… We’re also very pleased that we’ll be able to create more jobs for people in the Reno and Sparks area as the demand for our products continues to rise.”
