Kenowa Industries owner, Herman Miller employee honored with Minority Business …
The owner of Kenowa Industries and a Herman Miller employee were honored at the Holland Area Chamber of Commerce’s annual Minority Business Awards luncheon.
Kenowa Industries was named Minority-Owned Business of the Year. Owner and president Ed Amaya accepted the award.
Amaya started at Kenowa Industries — a custom metal fabrication shop with a 30-year history — in 2003 as a manufacturing engineer, becoming president in 2006 and majority owner in 2009, according to the chamber.
Kavy Lenon was named Outstanding Advocate for Minority-Owned Businesses. Lenon is the Inclusiveness Diversity Analyst for Herman Miller, according to the chamber. As part of the company’s diversity inclusion initiative, she promotes supplier diversity and matching diverse companies with internal buyers at Herman Miller.
