Jensen Precast Expands Its Metal Shop Operations in Sparks, NV and Launches …

Jensen Precast, manufacturer of precast concrete products made in America, has acquired two more buildings adjacent to their property in Sparks, NV. One of the buildings will provide an additional 21,200 sq. ft. of manufacturing space for their metal cover manufacturing division, Jensen MetalTech, and open the door to creating new jobs in the future.

Sparks, Nevada (PRWEB) December 16, 2011

Jensen MetalTech, a division of Jensen Precast, has outgrown their original manufacturing facility. “We’ve been running two shifts for a while to keep up with demand,´ said Tony Shanks, President of Jensen Precast. “Since we introduced our patented slip resistant surface called TraxPlate a few months ago, our cover shop business has steadily increased.

“This expansion is necessary in order to continue providing timely delivery as the demand for our products continues to grow, continued Shanks. “It was fortunate, and very timely, that these two buildings became available adjacent to our current facility.”

“We’re very enthusiastic about vastly increasing our capabilities with this additional 21,200 sq. ft. ,” said Mike Damon, General Manager of Jensen MetalTech. “That will give us a total of 52,000 sq. ft. under roof and approximately 1.5 acres of outside storage space. We’re also very pleased that we’ll be able to create more jobs for people in the Reno and Sparks area as the demand for our products continues to rise.”

The acquisition enables Jensen MetalTech to expand their welding and fabrication areas. Similarly, a new plate processing facility will allow them to supply sheet metal for their current operations and support their slip resistant TraxPlate product line.

The new facility will house the plate processing equipment including a 4,000 watt laser cutting table, multiple forming machines, and the technology needed to fabricate the company’s slip resistant TraxPlate surface. Jensen MetalTech has also added a plasma plate cutting machine capable of cutting steel up to 10 feet by 20 feet by 2 inches thick.

“With increased capabilities, and additional employees, we’ll be able to design and produce more custom pieces, too,” added Damon. “We’ve had some unusual requests for customized pieces in the past such as gates, fences, even a cemetery monument. People are finding out that, if it can be made out of aluminum or steel sheet metal, we can most likely help them.”

Expanding the Jensen MetalTech operations has also led to the realization that the division needed an entirely new, more in-depth, website. JensenMetalTech.com launched this week.

“The website will remain a work-in-progress as we develop our metal shop services and capabilities,” said Eric Jensen, Chief Marketing Officer for Jensen Precast. “We will continue to add new content and user features as we move forward.

“The new site will allow us to feature the products we manufacture for utility companies, municipalities, agencies, and industrial use,” Jensen continued. “It will also help us spotlight the custom metal fabrication and cutting work we can do such as metal sculptures for artists, landscape designers, and the like.”

Installation of the new equipment and movement of existing equipment is well under way, with plans to open the facility on January 15, 2012. Tours of the new facilities can be arranged by calling 775-352-2717.
